About Us
The Burning Bush Christian Church (BBCC) started with a vision. A vision given to Pastor Waites by the Lord through Exodus. "Then Moses said, I must turn aside and look at the great sight and see why the bush is not burned up" (3:3). It was through this vision that she observed the misery of God's people.
The vision was birth at a Bible Study in the home of Lavonne Boyd, our first chartered member whom God only allowed us to have for such a short time. (September 2001 until November 2001). Other significant people that helped birth the vision was La Joyee Harrison, Rev. Effie Blair and Sis. Kanesha Andrews. These are the ones who help give birth to the Burning Bush Christian Church.
The developement meetings began in the Holiday Inn Express where we had more Bible Study and prayer and assignments were given. Those present were Dorothy Howard, Frankie Williams, Maurice Waites, Roderick Waites, Erick Waites and Lavonne Boyd. This kick-off date for the church was the first Sunday in September 2001. For the first church service at the Holiday Inn Express over 60 people came, including those who looked in from curiosity. It was a very small room.
Six months later we moved from Holiday Inn Express to the space on McCart. In the year of 2003, we moved to the building space on Beach Street. In 2006 of May we moved to share space with Riverside Christian Church at 1000 Bonnie Brae which is now called Riverside Disciple Center where we are now located.
We have baptized many of God's people. We have a vision to develop faith community and to touch 1,000,000 souls in the southwest area of Fort Worth.
Everything, we are and everything we do - We do it all for the love and glory of God.
